Just like a vacuum cleaner, over time air purifier filters can get clogged with pollutants, and even let unpleasant odors back into the room.

To ensure your don't change your filter too late or too soon, the SmartFilter uses an algorithm to calculate filter life based on fan speed, particle sensor data, and estimated filter loading - so you can accurately see how much life your filter has left, and will get a reminder when it needs replacing (up to a maximum of one year).

After one year, the amount of time this filter is designed to last depending on room conditions, the Blueair app will let you know when it's time to reorder. It helps you with the purchase too!

Are Blueair filters HEPA?

No, Blueair filters are less dense than traditional HEPA filters, allowing our air purifiers to be quieter and more energy-efficient. Instead of HEPA filters, we use a combination of electrostatic and mechanical filtration that we call HEPASilent™ technology to achieve the same level of filtration efficiency - with less energy and noise.

What is a filter subscription?

Purchasing a filter subscription saves you 15% on all future replacement filter orders + free shipping. At the time of purchase, the subscription will automatically schedule filter deliveries at the recommended six months. You can always adjust this timeframe from the 'My Account' section.

For air purifiers with auto-ship services like the DustMagnet; your Blueair app will let us know when it's time to send a new filter so it will always arrive right when you need it.
