Choosing the best air purifier for your basement

Clean and healthy air is essential for maintaining a comfortable and safe environment in any area of a home, and basements are no different in this respect. These sub-level spaces often serve many purposes, from storage and laundry to recreation and full on living areas. When considering specific pollutants look to a specification called CADR, or Clean Air Delivery Rate. CADR is specified in CFM, or Cubic Feet per Minute, and addresses three different pollutants: dust, pollen, and smoke. For each of these particular airborne annoyances a CADR rate will be specified with a number. 


Here’s an example of how CADR works. Say you’re finding the air in your basement is often filled with dust.
